Fine and rare George III period stick barometer by Nairne and Blunt of London (1775 – 1805); fitted with an hygrometer with an ivory adjusting knob, a silvered register with a hand-operated vernier behind a lockable glazed door; the trunk with an 18” mercury thermometer with the makers’ distinctive brass spiral-pattern bulb-cover. The case of richly coloured mahogany with ebony bandings. Edward Nairne & Thomas Blunt were celebrated for the high quality of their instruments.

Condition In excellent condition, fully restored and in working order.
