Queen Anne period walnut and seaweed marquetry long-case clock;  the eight-day hour and half hour striking movement with 11 ¾” square brass and silvered dial with ‘boys and crown’ spandrels, inscribed Peter King, Long Acre*.  In a golden coloured case richly decorated with elaborate arabesques, foliage and exotic birds.  The hood with a domed caddy-top above a bold moulded cornice and with finely pierced sound-frets.  Wonderful colour and inlaid details. Circa 1705

*Peter King of Great St Andrews Street, Long Acre was a member of the Clockmakers Company 1715 - 1735
