Nineteenth century mahogany wheel barometer by John Davis of Edinburgh with an unusual 4 1/2" diameter silvered register, a detachable mercury thermometer, an hygrometer and a spirit-level, inscribed 'I. Davis, Optician, Edinburgh'. The well-figured case surmounted by a swan's-neck pediment and brass urn finial. John Davis is known to have been working at numbers 64 and 78 Princes Street from 1836 until 1842
