Silver bowl on silver stand, joined by a closely fitting bayonet lock; the outside of the bowl is plain, half-spherical. Inside engraved in the oriental style with a view of a veiled crescent moon through fruit-tree branches, with a painter’s signature and donor’s inscription*

Neither bowl or base marked by maker but it is an item of historical importance
Signature to the engraving inside bowl is “Tangetsusai Moriyasu”, the signature of the painter Higuchi Tangetsu (1821 – 96)
