Decorative lacquered-brass hall-lantern in the Gothic style; possibly Edwardian; the four glasses with palm-front corners above an elaborate arabesque base and surmounted by paired gables with crocketted and scrolled pinnacles. This lantern was bought from Mallett's of Bond Street in the 1970s and it was no doubt they who carried out the amendments to take electric fittings for three candle-bulbs (untested).
