A fine quality early 19th century mahogany adjustable table reading-stand. The rectangular desk lined with its original dark brown gilded leather and fitted with a pair of swivelling side supports and mounted on a finely turned column with a circular base. The book rest has a spiralled metal mount on the left corner of unexplained purpose but appears to be original fitted to it.

Desk is 12” (30.5cm) x 9” (23cm) deep; the whole stand is 12” (30.5cm) high rising to 14 ½ (37cm)
